Best Coastal Fashion Boutiques in Victoria

Summer is here and that means that all of Melbourne is heading to their favourite beach town to soak up the sun and relax with friends!

With New Years parties and family barbeques filling up the calendar, every one loves popping into their local coastal fashion boutique to pick up a new dress, swimsuit or sandals to wear to their next event.

We’ve put together a list of our current favourite boutiques on Victorian shores stocking the best of Australian fashion.

Coco & Frida Queenscliff

The shop’s creator, Tammy Honey, has a natural flair for discovering boutique designers from Australia that embody Coco & Frida’s values of conscious, sustainable and ethical fashion. Some of the local labels one can find at this gorgeous coastal boutique include Lois Hazel, Alcana and Collective Closets, just to name a few.

A natural choice for the contemporary ageless woman, the Coco & Frida store is filled with options that celebrate a woman’s individuality. Customers will be delighted to receive personalised styling from the passionate owner, Tammy, to make them feel and look beautiful.

In addition to the wonderful shopping experience, Coco & Frida also offer a range of workshops throughout the year where guests will be able to meet and learn from the designers behind Victoria’s best local fashion labels with champagne in hand! We love that Coco & Frida are not only spreading the stories of environmentally conscious and ethical clothing, but that they give back to the community too with ticket sales from these events going towards Queenscliff Primary School for workshops on sustainable, conscious and ethical practice.

Emia Sorrento

Located in the charming historic village of Sorrento, Emia is home to a carefully curated collection of emerging and premium brands from both local and international designers.

Owner Emanuella Tinti has a wonderful talent for selecting original and unique items. Australian brands they stock include Rebecca Vallance, Peony Swimwear, Nobody Denim, Fiorina Jewellery and Steele.

Each of the staff are passionate and knowledgeable about each of their brands, making it a wonderful shopping experience for customers to discover eclectic designs and learn about how their garments have been made. Just looking at the window you can see that Emia is all about celebrating a woman’s individual flair with eclectic dresses and quirky sandals always adorning the racks. A must visit for anyone wanting to celebrate what makes them special!

Always Store Warrnambool

Victoria’s second largest coastal city, Warrnambool, is home to spectacular wildlife and a stunning boutique clothing store. Always Store opened in March 2012 and since then has been bringing the best of Australian fashion to their pocket of regional Australia.

Their owner, Erin, has a wonderful buying philosophy. Almost everything she stocks is designed and made with care here in Australia. She loves Australian labels and designers that care about sustainability, the environment, are transparent about the way they do business, and those that support local manufacturing industry.

Be sure to visit this beautiful coastal boutique to discover some truly sensational local labels including Valet jewellery, Kloke, Kowtow swimwear, Kuwaii, Primness and more.

Deluxe Lorne

Located on the popular Mountjoy Parade, Deluxe Lorne has all of your Summer holiday essentials covered.

Their store is bustling with local labels including Le Stripe, Elms & King, Estilo Emporio and Cable Melbourne. The owner Renea is passionate about supporting local designers who bring a “high quality product for the life we live”. A fantastic shopping destination for women and men of all ages!

Debs Boutique Sorrento

Established in 1979, Debs Boutique has been providing their customers with a wonderful selection of fashion. They now have two boutiques on Ocean Beach Road to showcase two different types of ranges to their customers: Debs Boutique remains a high-end fashion boutique and Naturally Debs has an emphasis on natural fibres and clothing that slots into the everyday environment. It has always been a small family business with some bamboo racking made by Deb’s dad in the very first shop and now welcoming their third generation – who knows what exciting things the future will hold!

Some of our favourite local brands that they stock include Lucy Folk, Kitx and Alcana. The interiors of both of the stores are not to be missed, with a beautiful pod sculpture in the Debs Boutique store and hand carved timber totem poles in the Naturally Debs store.
